Bathroom Remodeling Layout Ideas

If you’re looking to boost the function and value of your home, bathroom remodeling in Cache Valley is one of the smartest investments.

Bathrooms are generally smaller spaces, which means they have to be efficient as well as stylish. It all comes down to designing a space that allows you to get creative with the design  but also makes sense in terms of how the space is used.

It really comes down to the floorplan. Once you have that in place, you can have some fun with the finishes, fixtures, and features.

Here are some important things to consider:

  • How many people will be using the bathroom, and how often?
  • What’s the budget you have to work with?
  • What’s your core design aesthetic, and how do you want to implement it?

As you answer those questions, below are some bathroom layout ideas to work with your needs and preferences.

Bathroom Floor Plan Ideas To Maximize Your Space

  • Long, narrow space. Configure that bathtub/shower combo lengthwise at the end of the space, a long double sink along one wall, and a toilet on the end opposite the shower.
  • Small square space. Place a large bathtub at one end and a small sink and toilet on the same wall. This can help save on plumbing and electrical costs. A pedestal sink can also be a wise choice in a smaller space.
  • Medium square space. If you have a little more square footage to work with, follow the same idea but possibly with a large or double vanity and a larger shower.
  • Large square space. The more square footage there is, the more flexibility you have in terms of design. For example, utilizing a separate bathtub next to a shower stall that allows two people to use the space at once.
  • Small half bath. Place a small sink and a toilet next to each other on the wall you’re facing when you open the door. This makes plumbing simple and efficient.
  • Small rectangular space. On the wall to the right of the door, place the toilet and a standing shower rather than a bathtub to maximize space. Place the sink on the wall to the left of the door, allowing for ample room for the door to clear when opening.

These are just a few examples, but definitely not an exhaustive list of all the bathroom layout possibilities. For example, some unique floor plans also allow for a bump-out alcove for a bathtub or a private toilet behind a separate door.

The key is to use what you have efficiently, and to make configuring plumbing and electrical work as smoothly as possible.
